Knitting abbreviation P-b or P1b stands for purl stitch in row below. This creates a fuller-looking stitch and is often used in fisherman's rib. This creates a puffy stitch.


To make this stitch, insert the right-hand needle into a stitch below the working stitch purlwise, wrap the yarn around the right-hand needle and pull through the stitch. Slide the worked stitch off the left-hand needle, leaving the new stitch on the right-hand needle.
