Knitting abbreviation M1T stands for make one towards. It is a left-leaning single stitch increase. This must be the easiest way to make tidy increases. It's perfect for colour work or if you hate fussing with stitches.

When you get to the point where you want to make an increase, take the working yarn, make a loop by twisting it 360 degrees counterclockwise, place it onto the right-hand needle and carry on knitting your stitches. When you get to this stitch on the next row/round, work it through the back loop to avoid further twisting.
