Knitting abbreviation - Tog

Knitting abbreviation Tog stands for together. It comes up when several knit or purl stitches are worked as one. K2tog or p3tog mean that you insert your needle through all of the indicated stitches and pull a loop through all of them, thus decreasing the total number of stitches. K2tog is a single stitch decrease because you end up with 1 stitch out of 2. P3tog is a two-stitch decrease because you get 1 stitch out of 3.
