Knitting abbreviation Pop stands for popcorn stitch. It is a bobble-type stitch which creates a round, textured stitch. It is smaller than your regular bobble and is worked over two rows/rounds. You can use popcorn stitches as a texture throughout your project or place them strategically to create shapes such as letters and images.
To make this stitch knit up to a spot where you will be placing a popcorn. Knit and purl into the same stitch a few times, and finish the row/round. When you get to these increased stitches on the next row/round, insert your needle into all of the stitches and knit/purl them together.
