Slip 1 knitwise is an action of moving a stitch from the left hand needle to the right hand needle without working it. It results with a twisted stitch which has the front loop moved back and the back loop moved to the front.

Insert the right hand needle through the front loop as if to knit and move the stitch from the left hand needle to the right hand needle.
