Pwise
Purlwise refers to how you insert the right hand needle into a working stitch. When you slip a stitch purlwise you preserve its position on the needle, unlike knitwise which brings the front loop to the back and the back loop to the front.
To make this stitch insert the right hand needle from right to left into the the front loop of the working stitch. The tip of the right hand needle will point to the left and towards you. Slip the working stitch off the left hand needle onto the right hand needle.
